Speaker 1:

I want to quit smoking. I want to be more consistent with my workouts. I want to stop binging on desserts. I want to sleep early every night. I want to be able to hold on to relationships.

Speaker 1:

At one point or another, we all have said one of these or something similar. We all want to have better habits that support and enrich our lives. A habit is formed when behavior is repeatedly performed in a consistent context. Behavior is repeatedly performed in a consistent context. Other behaviours that affect our environment, like littering, leaving lights on or keeping the tap open while you brush. Some behaviour changes may be related to improving well-being, such as reducing procrastination, going to bed earlier or practicing mindfulness. Some changes may be easy, but others prove quite challenging. There are close to 82 identified theories of behavior change applicable to individuals.
